This is a video tutorial introducing viewers and would-be virtual pilots to the basics of flying an airliner and operating the flight simulator at The House of Future Exhibition, Budapest, Hungary. The simulator (using Microsoft Flight Simulator) is a life-size replica of the cockpit of a Boeing 737NG aircraft. The instruments, displays, and switches work exactly the same way as in the real thing. Before flying the simulator, visitors have to watch this tutorial video to familiarise themselves with some of the basic techniques of flying such a complex and realistic simulator, including taxiing, takeoff, ILS approaches, using the flight director, and landing.
